Bolton Abbey – Day out in the Yorkshire Dales

Enjoy a family day out at Bolton Abbey amid the ruins of a 12th century priory overlooking the River Wharfe in the Yorkshire Dales. Aside from the ruins themselves, there are spectacular walking trails, a couple of cafes and a shop. An absolute must for a day out with kids is a short ride on the Embsay to Bolton Abbey steam train, especially when Thomas the Tank Engine in on duty.

While you’re in the area, be sure to visit Hesketh Farm, a local working farm with indoor play, rides, and lots to keep the kids busy.
