Want to get your little paws on a fun iPhone app for kids? Mouth Off has got to be one of the weirdest uses of the iPhone’s technology – essentially, the application features a sound-reactive cartoon mouth. That’s it. No sophisticated tilt features or geolocation or anything fancy – but for all its simplicity, it’s the sort of app that makes other developers want to kick themselves for not getting there first.
The Moshi Monsters version, available for free for a limited time only, lets you choose mouths from your favourite characters from the uber popular online virtual world, so you can mouth off as Poppet, Furi, Katsuma, Luvli, Sommer or Diavlo.
Built to indulge your appetite for pure and utter silliness, you’ll find yourself spending an inordinate amount of time talking to your friends with your phone held up in front of your face, Furi’s cartoon mouth moving in time with your words.
We’ve found it makes the “how was your day” conversation infinitely more amusing, and it’s great for whipping out during those tricky I’m-building-up-to-a-tantrum moments to defuse the situation.
Ah, yes, and your kids will like it too!
