We’re really enjoying Annabel Karmel’s new family cookbook, Annabel’s Kitchen: My First Cookbook, based on her TV show. While Annabel’s helpers on the show are slightly older primary school children and (absurdly) penguins, we thought most of the recipes are easy enough for toddlers and preschoolers to help with.
Bagel Snake is an easy winner, especially for Danger Boy who just loves spreading butter on bagels and occasionally (okay, always) himself, and you’ll know from all the blog posts about Pig Watermelon that it’s a huge hit with the kids and something even a toddler will enjoy making.
With the promise of summer sunshine on the way, we decided to give Annabel Karmel’s home made banana ice cream a go. It’s easy peasy, dairy free, sugar free (apart from natural sugar in the bananas), cold and creamy, and perfect for a summer day. If, like me, you have toddlers and a preschooler helping, you can tick “Messy Play” off your to-do list as well.
