Prince of Wales Pub in Highgate

Cosy pub on Highgate High Street, with the look and feel of an old fashioned country pub. Have you been to the Prince of Wales Pub with children? Let us know what you thought!

  1. DO NOT GO THERE! we went there with two small children for lunch during the week, where we come across the ruddiest ever barman / manager (he is aboutin his 50s). The children were generally well behaved but only a couple time a bit loud, but the barman came up to us twice and asked us to be quiet, despite there was hardly anyone there apart from us, and the fact that we were the only customers and we spent meals and drinks for two adults and two children! We didnt feel like to finish our meals; if we knew the children were not welcomed in the pub in the first place, then we wouldnt have paid for meals which we were not able to enjoy. I called the pub later to make a complaint, but the staff on the phone seems to suggest that the barman on duty is the manager, which is even more shocking. I don’t think we should endorse their behavior towards children by going there and spending money on the pub, do you?

    • This was one of our favorite pubs in London! We took our 2 year old daughter in here for lunch numerous times and loved every bit of it. We were always treated well and the thai food was delicious! Gotta love the James Taylor playing on the radio while the fire roared in the background. Great people, great food, great times!
