Six Nations inspiring the younger generation at Rugbytots

The RBS Six Nations Rugby tournament is under way, and one local sporting organisation, Rugbytots, is embracing the opportunity to get the younger generation excited in sport and have fun at the same time.

With the Government guidelines recommending that children of preschool age be physically active for at least three hours per day, classes like Rugbytots encourage children to participate in sport in a fun, active and safe environment.  Founded in 2006 to help fill a gap in the child development sector, Rugbytots uses Rugby specific skills to aid the development of young children, and give them a positive introduction to the game.

Lorna Belchambers, Rugbytots SW London, says: “Rugbytots helps develop children’s physical, physiological and social attributes. The classes are great for parent and child to spend time together having fun, learning valuable skills, with other like-minded families.”

Local parent Michael Wraight’s son Toby attends Rugbytots. Michael says: “Rugbytots has introduced Toby at a young age to sport in a fun and interactive way. The coaches and support staff work fantastically with the children and know how to get them fully involved, which with kids at a young age can be difficult! Toby has developed in his physical and social skills and we have seen an improvement in his interaction with other children through the classes. It also means I get to spend quality time with my child – I’m not sure which one of us enjoys it more!”
