Storksak supports “Women and Children First” for Mother’s Day

In the month leading up to Mother’s Day this year, the UK’s number one parenting brand bag Storksak will be offering offer free standard delivery and donate 15% of all profits on bag sales from 10th March – 3rd April 2011 to Women and Children First.  The money raised will go towards their unique programmes which are saving the lives of mothers and babies every day.

Storksak raises money for Women and Children First
Having a baby. Nothing seems more natural, positive and joyful. But the reality can be very different in some less fortunate regions of the world. Up to half a million women and three million newborn babies die each year in pregnancy and childbirth or soon afterwards, the majority of them in Africa and South Asia. For every woman who dies at least twenty more suffer complications which leave them with lifelong disability and pain.

This Mother’s Day marks the beginning of Storksak’s collaboration with Women and Children First, a charity which we are very proud to support. By providing women in the poorest communities of the developing world with vital knowledge about the issues and complications surrounding childbirth, WCF has been helping to significantly reduce the number of maternal and newborn deaths since 2000.

Women and Children First’s comment: Women and Children First is delighted that Storksak has chosen to support our work this Mothers’ Day; this collaboration will enable mothers here to make a difference by helping to save the lives and improve the health of mothers and babies in the developing world.
