  1. well, it’s mine. etch-a-sketch. yes, i’m old skool! i also remember playing with a solitaire game with metallic, beautifully coloured beads but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was called.

i’m also doll mad. i like to collect teenage dolls, and can’t resist picking them up from charity shops.

i’d love to try all the toys out, and bring my 14 year old along so he can relive his childhood too!

  2. I played with numerous toys and had a few favourites. As a young child my favourite was a Sesame Street playhouse. As an older child, my tether-ball.

  3. Our 2 girls (aged 4 and 6) have lots of toys to play with but prefer to make dens!! These consist of large cardboard boxes, all the cushions off the sofas and tents (sort of!) made from the throws off the sofas. They spend hours in their “dens” together with their dolls and other toys and Mum (me) gets a little bit of well earned peace!!

  4. My two are 8 and 10 and love playing with anything than can make believe with: dolls, cars, figures, lego, toy food, etc.

  5. It’s Lego all the way for my 6 year old girl, but certainly not Lego Friends..Artic BaseCamp and Space exploring.

For my 7 year old daughter, anything that can be incorporated into imaginary play with her sister….. boxes = hideouts, cushions = stepping stones across the river, stick = train.

  6. Our favourite game to play as a family is Operation. I remember playing this with my parents and enjoy this with my boys!

  7. Our favourite game at the moment is ‘ fish’-a card game I used to play with my parents. It teaches children about numbers and recognizing symbols. We play it every night before bedtime.

Have Tweeted and Liked on Facebook too.

  8. I used to have a Daisy Doll, along with her diary, which I adored. My son just loves Postman Pat…and Jess of course!

  9. My little girls are typical girls. They love their dollhouse and dolls and have many a tea party with little cakes that they have baked. It is a grand affair!
