Clissold Arms between East Finchley and Muswell Hill (London)

Very smart, spacious gastropub with plenty of room for buggies – making it a great place to meet for a nice lunch while the babies are napping. It is fairly expensive and the portions are small, but the food is absolutely gorgeous so is well worth it for a special occasion. There is a little grocers / deli on the premises where you can buy meats, cheeses, homemade desserts, and lots of other yummy things. They also have some very nice cooked lunches to take away. 1. This place has a nice atmosphere and it’s really easy with a small baby. It’s buggy friendly, the baby changing area is well maintained, the staff are really friendly, etc. There is a car park as well if you aren’t local. I have to say I would never dare come here for lunch with my slightly boisterous toddler, but only because she doesn’t sit still for long and this place is really designed for a long leisurely (and slightly posh) lunch, and I would feel bad disrupting others in the restaurant. The food in the restaurant is delicious and beautifully presented, but sadly I think it is overpriced.
