  1. I really love Monkey Nuts and try and find some excuse to go there whenever I can. The food is classic north american stuff (burgers, hot dogs etc) but with really fresh ingredients & their fishcakes are delicious as is the cranberry-lime drink I always get. My only negative (ish) comment is that breastfeeding discreetly can be tricky if you choose the wrong table. Other than that it’s really easy with young kids – plenty of room for buggies beside the table, lots and lots of highchairs, the kids are always served first (and very quickly), I can fit my double buggy in the disabled toilet so I can change one and keep an eye on the other, and the general atmosphere is really positive and kid friendly.

The kids menu is a bit pricey (£5.50) but the portions are pretty big and that includes a drink and ice cream. It’s also varied so there is something to please even the pickiest child. Besides our regular lunches after Jeremy’s music classes, a bunch of us went to Monkeynuts for a Christmas lunch – ten 9-month olds and about 15 adults – and even that was surprisingly easy and lots of fun!
