Fantastic cafe aimed at young families – so much so that you can only eat there if you have kids. It has a specified area for buggies and a children’s play area complete with toys, books, soft cushions, mini tables and chairs and dressing up clothes. There is a varied children’s menu, including freshly blended baby food, and older children can even make their own pizza!

This place is fab, I cannot recommend it enough. Not only is it the ultimate in baby/child friendliness, the food is delicious and freshly prepared – we went for Sunday roast and both the meat and veggie options were scrummy. Service was very friendly also! Unlike other places I have been to, it doesn’t feel like the adult’s experience is being compromised for the sake of the little ones – I would go back there even if I didn’t have kids!
On a Sunday we found it easy to park nearby, although it is probably more difficult during the week. And make sure you book – you can imagine how popular this place must get, it was fully booked when we went. You can also book for birthday parties and they hold various classes for kiddies during the week. I only wish there were more places like this around!
Had a joint birthday party with a group of mums when all of our kiddies turned 2. We didn’t book the whole place – just a table…This sounds like a recipe for disaster, but it was brilliant. The manager (Sam) didn’t seem at all shocked, scared or even vaguely flustered at the thought of 10 two-year-olds rampaging around her cafe on a Saturday at lunchtime. This hugely positive and relaxed attitude to to kids proved to be the same on the day – the kids ran around, blew bubbles, tried on costumes, bundled on the cushions, and when we were done with the birthday fairy cakes the room looked it had been hit by a chocolate tornado (yum). Nobody even batted an eye. How brilliant is that?
The kids were served first, then big people ate later once the little ones were fed and busy in the play area. My lunch (fishcakes w big salad, avocados etc) was gorgeous and really fresh. Kids menu was more or less the same as adult menu (pasta, sausage & mash, fishcakes, etc), but smaller portions, and all the kids seemed to enjoy it. E didn’t try the fresh baby puree but they basically said they could make anything I asked for. They were happy to heat up our homemade baby food and our bottles. I ordered some cupcakes for the toddlers, and the staff brought them out with a little candle in each one – the kids loved it. The changing table was comfy but I noticed it was not easily wipeable in case of accidents, and some of the junior staff were a bit forgetful or disorganised, but all in all, I think this place is superb. I really hope they do well and wish they were not so far from our house!
What a great place!
We went here as part of a birthday party that another review refers to. It really is a great place, very relaxed and we were all made to feel very welcome (despite lots of 2 year olds, their brothers and sisters, mums and dads). The food and drinks are good value and the relaxed attitude of the staff rubs off on customers. The dressing up clothes are great entertainment – wish we lived nearer. The only thing that is a bit tricky is parking. Lots of pay and display spaces in local streets but from memory you can’t stay for longer than 2 hours in the same place.
