My top 3 spots for shopping in London with children are…
1. John Lewis (www.johnlewis.com)
It has got to be John Lewis at number 1. They have great facilities for Mums and Dads including changing facilities and parenting rooms for feeding so you don’t have to rush to get back to feed your baby (especially handy if you haven’t yet mastered the art of breast feeding in public with confidence!).
2. The Golden Treasure Bookshop
The Golden Treasury Bookshop is great! Ok, so this is probably only a useful tip if you live in Southwest London but they have a little seating area for kids with a box of books that the kids are allowed to look at without you having to worry too much about sticky fingers getting on pristine pages. The staff are helpful and brilliant at advising on books for different ages. They also hold regular author events and last year my children met Alex Scheffler who drew an animal in each of their books with a dedication.
3. Trotters (www.trotters.co.uk)
Trotters have it all! A great selection of clothes, shoes and a hair salon. There is a play car for filling the time if you have to wait to be served in the shoe department and a fish tank to distract the kids while they have their hair cut. In my experience the staff are very helpful too.
