What would you do with £40,000? In our family we’re still reeling from the shock of me being made redundant while on maternity leave after Baby #2. In the blink of an eye we went from being a double-income household to having a single wage earner, hemorrhaging money on baby essentials like nappies and tiny little vests, a second car seat, the double buggy, and a staggering grocery bill thanks to our little hollow legged boy. So we started dreaming about all the ways £40,000 could improve our lives… here’s our shortlist –
- 3,861 kilograms of organix raisins. (What? So bribery with raisins for good behaviour is high on the list!) or
- 14 visits to see Grandma and Grandpa in Canada or
- 1 university education (let’s hope the other one is really smart and wins a scholarship!)
How do you win the £40,000?
Well, by spending. Any other time of year that would sound just a little ridiculous, but with Christmas approaching we’re buying presents anyway, so why not apply a little strategy to our gift-buying and maybe win some serious cash? The idea is that you buy whatever you like from any of your favourite online retailers, and every time you choose to pay for a purchase using PayPal, your name goes into the hat for that week’s prize draw, and with it a chance to win £40,000 . The key to winning isn’t how much you spend, but how often. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying tickets to a panto, or a chocolate advent calendar, or a pink bike with shiny streamers, a ticket to CyberMummy 2011, a boring old ink cartridge, a second hand baby buggy on eBay, or even a plug-in for your blog… the more often you use PayPal the better.
