  1. All good and dandy when the kids are still infants and whatever you give them is ok. But when they are 9 or 10 years old and they know what they want AND it costs a bomb, then it’s trouble! I don’t have kids of my own but I do have nephews and nieces and they all know exactly what they want. Don’t you dare buying some simple toy to get over the present exchange of Christmas. I just leave my salary in Hamley’s without passing go.
    Remind me again why we celebrate Christmas?
    So, yes a list of offers is good very good. Useful…that’s a different matter altogether.
    It does not mean I hold a grudge towards people merrily helping with gifts lists, it means I have to pawn my jewellery to get the latest gadgets kids who are not even teenagers ask for.
