The Muppets: Kermit takes over Twitter!

Muppet fans, you are in for a real treat this week! Not only will Kermit and Miss Piggy be on The Jonathan Ross Show this weekend, Walt Disney Pictures UK has just announced that for the first time ever, Kermit the Frog will be available on Twitter.

On Thursday January 26th, Kermit is in London doing a series of interviews and special appearances to promote The Muppets, and he’ll be taking over the @DisneyMoviesUK Twitter handle to tell us all about it. You’ll be able to tweet him your questions too – just include #AskKermit in your tweets, or tell us what you’d like to ask and we’ll make sure he gets it.

[box]How to Ask Kermit a Question: You can either leave a comment below or on our Facebook page, or tweet your question to @kidfriendly_UK and we will make sure Kermit gets it – the best question will get a tweeted video reply. Or just tweet your question to @DisneyMoviesUK marking it #AskKermit any time today![/box]

And no, it’s not his publicist or the Disney community manager tweeting… it’s Kermit himself. Yes, we know, it is tricky tweeting from an iPhone using green felt fingers, but we’ve had word that he has enlisted the help of a video camera crew so he can micro-vlog his replies, and that he might ask his puppeteer to help with the tweets.

The Muppets - Kermit on Twitter

Kermit made the announcement whilst in Madrid, Spain explaining, “When you travel with Miss Piggy it can get kinda hard to get a word in edgewise. So, I figured out a great way to be heard and to answer all your questions”.

Don’t believe us? Here’s the man, erm, frog himself:

The new Muppet Movie opens in UK cinemas on February 10th, and tells the story of Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams). Upon discovering the nefarious plan of Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to demolish the Muppet Theater they help Kermit reunite the Muppets to stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theatre.

We absolutely loved The Muppets movie and are dying to see it again – read our review of The Muppets to find out why we loved it so much.

If you could ask Kermit one question, what would it be? Leave a comment below!
