  7. West London is great for families for many reasons; clean, safe, choc-a-bloc with theatre, cinemas, shows, resteraunts and attractions as well as the most fantastic shops.

However what draws these all together is the amazing atmosphere of fun, laughter and excitement that whistles through the sheets and gladdens the hearts of yound and old.

  8. For me, my favourite ever musical is Wicked. I loved it from start to finish. My little boy on the other hands reckoned Shrek was the best thing he’d ever seen!

  9. Favourite West End Show Blood Brother must try and see again it before it ends in October

also love going to Natural History Museum with the children

  10. My favourite musical is definately Miss siagon, it is sadly no longer on in the west end, but my friend tells me Wicked is a fantastic family musical.
Our favourite family thing to do is to visit the Natural History museum, so much for the kids to see and learn about while having fun and seeing things they can’t see anywhere else.

  11. West End is great for kids because of the culture it has to offer, the shops, the musicals, the sights. It’s all just a great experience.
The musicals realy do make it that bit more special. I’ve seen a few musicals, but Lion King is one everyone wants to see.

  12. There are just so many things to see and do! Theatre, eating out, street entertainment – and of course the museums. Everything is so close together and easy to get to, even riding the trains is an adventure!

  13. On my 21st Birthday my partner surprised me with tickets to see ‘Wicked’

I had never been to a west end show before as I didn’t live anywhere near London.

I can still remember the feeling when defying gravity was echoed around the theatre. Just Wow!

It’s now become an annual event. Still haven’t seen Lion King!!

  14. The West End has such a diversity of attractions ideal for families – theatre, themed restaurants, museums, galleries and some wonderful FREE parks

My favourite musical is the Jersey Boys for the quality of singing and feel good factor it induces

Have tweeted @Wava_Wanda and liked/shared the FB post

  15. I visit London a lot,and for me out of all the shows The Wizard of Oz was my favourite with the little Westie dog who played Toto.

It was amazing to hear the children all cooing over the cute little dog even considering we went to the evening performance.A little girl at the side of me was only 7 & she enjoying it from the start at 7.30 pm right until the end at 10pm never once falling asleep!

  16. The west end is great for families – where else can you go for an evenings entertainment that the whole family will enjoy – there are some great places to eat and great shows to see – My kids have been lucky enough to go several times this year – Wicked was their fave hands down !!!

  17. It’s a very welcoming place for families to be and the atmosphere is great. Fun all year round.

  18. West London is brilliant. It has so many nice places to go to. The West End is amazing, with all the shops and theatres

  19. Years ago I saw Disney Beauty and the Beast. Absolutely Spectacular and very moving story. I would love to see Disney’s the Lion King. A roaring prize.

  20. West London is great for families because nowhere else on the entire planet is it possible to find such a rich diversity of people, cultures, food, theatre, arts, entertainment, music, sporting heritage, history, great architecture and modern technology all easily accessible within a few square miles of each other. Families can budget from free days out to ‘once in a lifetime’ excursions and leave with memories to last a lifetime.

  21. The west end is great for families because there’s so much to do. The shows in theatres are absolutely fantastic, the Lion King being the best I’ve ever seen. I would love to win this comp as I know my step son would enjoy this more than anything he’s ever done!

  25. Its great for families because it’s so central and near the key sites so easy to,combine with daytime visits to historic places..and there’s a host of child friendly restaurants nearby not least the rainforest cafe.

  26. The westend is good for families and groups, because it has a good range on different shows, suitable for different ages! its a fun day out for all the family, and hold amazing shows

  27. The beating heart of a vibrant city. If you never went to a show you could hang out all day in Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus, watching street theatre in Covent Garden, trying cheese on Neal Street. But to be able to enter any one of those magical worlds, be transported by songs and spectacle, and then emerge into the street at night. As cool as it gets.

  28. We love the shows and the friendly atmosphere…. we’ve seen Joseph, Grease and Legally Blonde and would love to see Shrek and Lion King.

  29. Diversity, from Westfield new shopping complex, with a cinema, oudles for all, young or old, to shops like, last place on earth, with it superb furniture, to the west end, and plays of the quality of Billy Elliot, yes it has it all

  30. West London is great for families because whatever your budget you are never short of things to do. From fabulous West End shows to our excellent museums and parks there will always be ways to entertain the kids!

  31. The West End is FAB and China Town is a favourite with my two daughters. The vibrant colours, the smells, the tastes and the cultures make for a super strollaround … and it is all pedestrianised which is fabulous. Sampling real chinese food surrounded by chinese people is superb. – see all the ducks and sucklings hanging in the widows! Strolling through the streets and looking into the chinese shops selling the fruit and vegetables – smelling the lychees! China Town is just great and a must have place to visit.

  32. The west end shows how great london is, the shops, theatre shows for all ages and the entertainment makes a great day out.

  33. There is always so much to do and se in London for families and much of it doesnt cost a lot if anything at all. However, if you do have spare cash then the best investment is a west end show, and there are loads of family shows to choose from. We recently went to see Wicked, and it really was!!

  34. West End is amazing as it comes with loads of opportunities and it can bring a family together and also it makes everybody happy 😀

  35. I was brought up in London and now lie in East Sussex, but going back to the West End is lovely. Memories of seeing shows, the hustle and bustle of a night out in the West End is all you need to make you smile.Such a great place to be 🙂

  36. I took the children to see The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe it was amazing, an absolutely magical show my five year old enjoyed it so much he didnt stop talking about it all the way home!

  37. Great for our two little girls was a yummy meal at Sophies steak house – followed by Shrek the Musical

  38. My daughter was absolutely desperate to see The Wizard of Oz – despite me thinking she was a bit too young, she watched the film daily and we finally took her to see it – and did she love every second of it. When we came out, she wanted to know when she could see it again! And we had the CD on loop in our car for months later!

      • Could this site turn into a gathering place of FreeStyle dsisucisons and information? If so, how do we make that happen? Should we find information from p-net, solo-tripping and facebook and re-post it here? How should information be organized and categorized? What are your thoughts?

  39. In a world where TV and Playstation games are fast taking over childrens lives, the West End is a great reminder of simpler times. Where art, culture & the freedom to express yourself through song, dance & theatre are not only explored but celebrated!

  40. Lion king is definately my fave. Saw it a few years ago, but it was a birthday surprise and I only had prescription sunglasses that I had to wear in the theatre.
Lion king is now my sons favorite film and we call him our ‘lion king’ after he was in intensive care when born because I said he needs to be strong like a lion, and my OH called him his king, so he’s now called our lion king or simba 🙂
