We’ve been looking forward to Finding Nemo 3D and The Hobbit for years now, and cannot tell you how excited we are about Tim Burton’s new Disney film, Frankenweenie… With these and some other must-see family movies coming out this Autumn you’ll have to drag us out of the cinema kicking and screaming. Here’s our list of some of the most anticipated films of 2012, and their UK release dates… don’t forget to leave a comment to tell us which ones you’re most looking forward to! SEPTEMBER
Toys In The Attic (2012)
Release date: 7th September
Genre: Animation/fantasy
Now being re-released for English audiences, Toys In The Attic is set in a magical world of toys and knick-knacks in the attic of a home in Prague. The world of the attic is divided into two realms: the land of the happy toys in the West, and the Land of Evil in the East. In the East, the Head of State rules the Land of Evil and is backed by wicked minions, insects and rotted vegetables. When he kidnaps the beautiful Buttercup, it is up to her pals Teddy, Mechanical Mouse, Laurent and Sir Handsome to journey across to the other side of the attic to rescue her.
Finding Nemo 3D

Remember how much you loved the original Finding Nemo? Your kids will love it in 3D! Dive back into the waters to follow clownfish Marlin and forgetful blue tang fish Dory as they search for Marlin’s lost son, Nemo, who was separated from him at the Great Barrier Reef. Taken a long way from home and dumped in a dentist’s fish tank, Nemo is also desperate to escape. With the help of his new friends, they devise a cunning plan to free themselves from the tank.
OCTOBER
Hotel Transylvania
Release date: 12th October

Hotel Transylvania is Dracula’s stylish resort for monsters and their families where they can’t be bothered by humans. One special weekend, Dracula invites the world’s most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves (and more!) – to daughter Mavis’ 118th birthday party. However, when an ordinary boy stumbles across the hotel, he falls in love with Mavis, which is a very big problem for Dracula…
Frankenweenie

Disney’s quirky family-friendly take on the classic Frankenstein, Frankenweenie is the story of a boy, Victor and his dog, Sparky. One fateful day, Sparky is hit by a car. Unable to deal with this loss, Victor decides to bring his faithful friend back to life with the power of science. However, his hand-sewn creation can’t be hidden for long and when Sparky gets out, he causes mayhem and terror for the neighbours. It is up to Victor to convince everybody that despite appearances, Sparky is still a good, loyal friend. Filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, and directed by Tim Burton, this is the horror film your whole family will want to watch this Hallowe’en.
Fun Size

Do you have girls who like TV show Victorious? If so, they will love Fun Size! The star of Victorious (Victoria Justice) plays Wren, a high school senior eager to go to college. On Hallowe’en, the guy she has a crush on invites her to a big party but her mum has forced her to babysit her weird little brother, Albert. However, Albert wanders off so Wren needs the help of best friend April, ladies’ man Peng and his nerdy best friend, Roosevelt to find her brother before her mum finds out he’s missing. A laugh out loud film, your girls will love it. (Note: contains rude humour.)
NOVEMBER
Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2

Have you and your kids been eagerly awaiting the final part of Twilight? We’re not surprised – it’s been almost a year since Part 1 came out. With the release date in mind, you now have a date to take them out to see it, or to arrange a mum’s night out! Part 2 finds Bella enjoying life and her new powers following the birth of daughter Renesmee, until Vampire Irina believes that the girl (half human, half vampire) could challenge the existence and power of the Volturi. She rallies the Volturi together to remove their threat, so Bella and Edward must assemble their own allies to fight a crucial battle to protect their family.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Way before Frodo destroyed the one ring, Bilbo Baggins went on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug. Approached by Gandalf the Grey to carry out the mission, he accompanies thirteen dwarves led by the great warrior Thorin Oakenshield, to take back the kingdom. En route, he has to escape the goblin tunnels and it is here that he meets the creature Gollum, who possesses a “precious” ring of great power and extraordinary qualities. This one meeting changes Bilbo’s life, especially when he becomes the ring’s new owner…
