King’s Road is the place to visit this Christmas for London shopping. With less than three weeks to go, the road, which runs from Sloane Square right up to Fulham, is playing host to lots of festive activities to keep shoppers happy and entertained. Here are just a few of the local attractions King’s Road has to offer for visitors and locals alike.
See the lights
Come out of Sloane Square tube station and you will be wowed by the beautiful lights. The lights are iconic and provide a perfect backdrop to get you in the festive mood. Head over the square and towards Peter Jones. You will see the department store has been draped like a curtain and bright white lights.
See Santa
Christmas is coming which means it’s time to let the kids tell Santa what’s on their list. Duke of York Square in Chelsea has transformed the popular location into a winter wonderland and you can find Santa’s Christmas Grotto which is open on Saturday and Sunday’s from Wednesday through to Sunday’s in December. If you want to see Santa, places are free and therefore limited, so it is advised that you book in advance on www.dukeofyorksquare.com
Shop designer sales
Whether you want to bag yourself a bargain or prove you’re at the top of Santa’s style list this Christmas, there is only one destination to make all your festive fashion fantasies come true this December.
Designer Sales UK is returning to Chelsea between Friday December 7 and Sunday December 9 with a sleigh full of fabulous brands at a fraction of the price. Public entry charges are £3 or £2 for concessions.
Shop and eat
There’s a whole mixture of shops and restaurants on King’s Road like Peter Jones, KRSC and Bluebird Chelsea. Why not combine your shopping with cocktails and an evening meal? With such a long road, it’s a great way to finish off your day and unwind in one of the many local pubs or restaurants. You may even spot someone famous too.
Catch a festive film
If you really want to unwind, then how about catching a film? We’re now starting to look forward to the rush of film releases around the Christmas period like Les Miserables, Django Unchained, The Hobbit and Jack Reacher. Catching a film is also a perfect way to enjoy a well-deserved day off.
These are just a few of the events that are going on in Chelsea and King’s Road during Christmas. We believe that these ideas will make your Christmas shopping London one of the best yet.
