Dover Museum in Kent (South East England)

Dover Museum in Kent is home to one of the most exciting archaeological finds – the world’s oldest known seagoing boat. This wooden prehistoric boat is thought to be about 3000 years old so a visit to the Dover Museum is a great way to get the kids talking about the Bronze Age and the very beginnings of international exploration and trade.

For younger children, we’d recommend you stick to visiting on “Family Days”, when there are themed activities for the kids to enjoy for free.
