Kelvingrove Museum & Art Gallery in Glasgow (Scotland)

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of the top 3 free visitor attractions in Scotland and one of the most visited museums in the UK outside of London.

Visiting Kelvingrove with children

Discover Kelvingrove’s amazing collection as a family with our weekend programme of activities and self-led trails. These are available every Saturday and Sunday from 1.30-4pm and normally operate on a drop-in basis. See the Families section of our What’s On magazine.

During the Spring, Summer and October school holidays there are children’s activities available most days; families and organised groups welcome.

Permanent displays that are popular include the Mini Museum, where you can try on wacky shoes, the Creatures of the Past gallery with its dinosaur fossils and the sleeping beauty dressing up area in Every Picture Tells a Story.

With a café and gift shops, as well as Kelvingrove Park on the doorstep, Kelvingrove Museum is the ideal destination for a family day out.
