Going to Nickelodeon Land? We asked Brazilian-born mum Lilinha to tell us all about a day out at Nickelodeon Land with her little boy – the best places to eat, the coolest rides and attractions, and opportunities to meet Nick Jr characters. Here’s what she had to say…
Nickelodeon Land is a six-acre kids attraction home to 12 rides based on the popular children’s TV channels. It is based on Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and part of the 42-acre amusement park featuring over 125 rides and attractions. We have been to Nickelodeon Land a couple of times, little man was 4 years old on our first visit and 5 on our last visit a few weeks ago. The family-friendly rides are colourful and fun, offering a great family day out for everyone.
Wet Rides at Nickelodeon Land
On a hot day, you can cool down in SpongeBob’s Splash Bash with onboard water cannons drenching other riders. There are also offboard water blasters hidden in the surrounding corals, so you have the chance to splash those in the ride. You can have fun either you are on the ride or watching those that are riding the SpongeBob’s Splash Bash.
Another summer favourite ride is Rugrats Lost River, you go down the river on a boat where the Rugrats are on a quest to find a mythological banana split sundae, the elusive Temple of Spoon. Make sure you take a waterproof jacket, or you can buy a disposable one at Nickelodeon Land.
Thrill Rides
If you prefer thrill rides, you will enjoy the Blue Flyer, a child-friendly rollercoaster suitable for little ones and grown-ups. Nickelodeon Streak is another fast ride, a classic wooden rollercoaster suitable for children over 6 years old, as you need to be over 117cm to ride.
Character Appearances
There are also seasonal shows at Nickelodeon Land so check the website before booking your visit. In June little man met Poppy Cat, the adventurous cat, and took part in fun activities, such as taking part in an interactive Fitness Forest Show, and copying Poppy Cat dance routine. There were also characters appearances throughout the day where little ones have the chance to meet and greet their favourite characters.
Places to Eat at Nickelodeon Land
When visiting Nickelodeon Land, you can dine in one of the restaurants at Pleasure Beach or purchase an All You Can Eat Wristbands. On our first visit, we simply ordered from one of the food outlets, but last time we had an All You Can Eat Wristbands. Using the wristbands, you can get meals from selected food outlets from a choice of fish and chips, burgers, hot dogs, pizzas and others. You can visit the restaurants as many times as you wish, so it is ideal if you plan on spending the whole day at Nickelodeon Land.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Since Nickelodeon Land is located at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, you should make the most of the visit by enjoying the rides in the main park. Infusion and Ice Blast are great thrill ride, perfect if you enjoy adventures.
There are also family-friendly rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, such as traditional carousel Gallopers and Flying Machine.
