Everyone is busy at Christmas, wrapping presents, stuffing the turkey, writing cards, and decorating the house. The kiddies will want to be busy too with their own job to do. So, while you’re out at the shops, grabbing the last minute presents, take 5 minutes to pop into the nearest Art or Fabric shop and pick up some felt for this easy last minute Christmas Craft idea – a felt Christmas tree. With a few quick cuts and some tape, you’ll have an activity that’ll keep them focused and calm in the midst of the “organised” Christmas chaos!
Materials
1 metre of green felt
Pack of Felt – Assorted Colours (A4/Square Pack)
Double Sided Poster Tape
Container
Scissors
What to do before
Cut triangle shape out of green felt. From the coloured felt, cut out circles (for baubles), and use squares and rectangles (for presents) and an assortment of smaller circles and strips (to decorate presents). Use gold/yellow to add a nice star for the top of the tree. Attach the green triangle of felt to the wall using Poster Tape.
What the kiddies can do
Decorate their own tree! The felt will stick to the tree so there’s no need to use tape on them. The kiddies will have just as much (if not more) fun removing the decorations so keep a box/container close by for all the felt.
