You are already being a complete superhero by staying home with the kids to help save more lives during the coronavirus pandemic, but let’s take it up a notch and get other people doing the same. In this really kid friendly stay home challenge, you’re going to make your own completely and utterly awesome superhero lair. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it can be a supervillain lair instead if you’re that way inclined.
This easy stay home challenge / activity for kids (and everyone else, really) is SUPER fun to set up, will keep your fam happy and occupied for days on end, and gives you plenty of AWESOME, POSITIVE stuff to post on social media while you’re in lockdown.
Plus, if the empty supermarket shelves are anything to go by, you now have about 8,000 toilet paper rolls and cereal boxes at home and are probably unsure whether you’re allowed out to recycle them – so this is a great way to put them to use.

Let the #StayHomeChallenge begin!
We made a skyline using black and yellow paper and blue tac
The kids spent hours / days / years adding tiny windows
Leave the kids in charge of cutting up bits of yellow paper using those awful but safe children's scissors - it will take them a really, really long time. Then, they can stick the windows on the buildings one by one. We'd recommend using blue tac so they can be repositioned more easily.
Can you outdo these superheroes? Take the #StayHomeChallenge!
This Hulk-smashed wall made the kitchen way more awesome
We made this brick wall using two layers of coloured paper, and drew the bricks using a sharpie. Remember to cut a hole to climb through!
Knocking down the bricks never ever ever gets old
We added sound effects too!
We spent hours learning how to draw in 3D comic book style sound effects, and then stuck them all over the house.
Then we built a city from cereal boxes and books
And the grown-ups took photos from different angles
